Seeking New AGU Cryosphere Executive Committee Members

The AGU Cryosphere Focus Group Executive Committee is pleased to solicit applications for membership on the Cryosphere Focus Group Executive Committee. Applications are specifically requested for the following positions, which are currently open:

Student Representative
The applicant must be an enrolled undergraduate or graduate student. You will serve as a conduit of information between Cryosphere Focus Group leadership and your fellow student scientists, and help to mobilize and engage current and potential cryosphere student scientists.

Early Career Representative
The applicant must be no more than 10 years post-degree on 1 January of the year in which the nomination to the Executive Committee is made. You will serve as a conduit of information between Cryosphere Focus Group leadership and your fellow early career scientists, and help to mobilize and engage current and potential cryosphere early career scientists.

Liaison to the AGU Societal Impacts and Policy Sciences (SIPS) Focus Group
The applicant should have affiliations with both SIPS and Cryosphere and will serve to increase interaction between the groups by encouraging and promoting joint sessions and abstracts.

Representative to the AGU Centennial Year Planning Committee
The applicant should be interested in promoting cryospheric science and supporting the AGU Centennial celebration planning process.

General member
The applicant should be willing to serve on the executive committee and volunteer for tasks as they arise.

Applicants for the Executive Committee will be expected to prepare for, attend and actively participate in regular (6-8) executive committee teleconferences throughout the year for a term of 3 years, and attend the executive committee meeting at the annual AGU Fall Meeting.

Applicants should submit as a SINGLE document with a short (2-page) Curriculum Vitae, an indication of the position for which they are applying, and a one-paragraph statement about their interest in serving on the executive committee.
